UNFOUNDED ILLUSION

 • What is that word called peace

Sought in a world of unending chaos

By knowledge and might

And all of different status.

• What is that word called peace

That men might never know

A drowning illusionary bliss

Encapsulating the mind.

• For some have sought via uncanny ways

And others claimed to have found it

Peace they say, lives in the heart, yet

Gloom overpowers it at the death of a loved one.

• The rich with their earthly treasures, afforded it not

The poor found it a mirage

As woes betides the heart

And tragedy, makes men drown in pools of tears.

• If there’s yet one word

That men should ever know is that

Man is devoid of peace

And dear friend, peace is death.
